I was able to take an anamorphic projection-lens, and convert it to a taking-lens, with the important ability to focus from infinity, down to mere inches!

Below is a vague step-by-step guide on what I did:

1. Take the anamorphic lens apart (remove main ring from housing, pull glass out).
2. Remove screws that hold front lens on.
3. Cut the lens in half.
4. Cut-off the smaller ring, to allow the front and rear to fit closer together.
5. Attach the front and back lens on to rail support.
